Heath Ledger—Potential Overdose Seems Likely

Jack Nicholson, the original “Joker”, had one cryptic thing to say about Heath Ledger’s death: “I warned him.” As of yet, evidence does not lead to a suicide. Ledger had recently admitted to having difficulty sleeping while playing the Joker, a character whom Ledger called a “psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy."

His split from Michelle Williams, the mother of his 2-year old daughter, Matilda, was said to be amicable, however a break in such a significant relationship would never be easy. So far, there are more questions than answers, and one of Hollywood’s most promising young hunks is dead.

Rapper Lil’ Wayne Busted for Drugs—AGAIN!

Lil’ Wayne has been arrested for drugs so many times, we can’t count them all! He was arrested in 2006 in Atlanta on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. He was arrested in Idaho on a warrant due to the Atlanta bust. And now he’s spent all night in a Yuma, Arizona jail, pending his 9am PST arraignment this morning. What does Lil' Wayne even sing anyway? It doesn’t seem like he’d have the time to tour with all the unnecessary stops he makes to chat with the DEA!

Amy Winehouse in Rehab—For Real!

Continuing their statement on Amy Winehouse’s rehab check-in, Universal Music Group said that “Amy is the most talented and important musical artist of her generation and has made huge strides on her road to recovery. Universal Music Group wants nothing more than to see her take the time she needs to come back to full health and fulfill her incredible potential with the label. The label has always had the best interests of Amy at heart and has been guided by her family and doctors in the last few months as to the best direction to take. All concerned feel that Amy must put her health before all considerations and will be by her side whenever and wherever they are needed."

It must be incredible to screw up that much (i.e. have a film of you smoking crack made and leaked), and still have your employer by your side. Showbiz is incredible! But seriously, we’re happy she’s going. Amy Winehouse's music is righteous.

Wesley Snipes Doesn’t Pay Taxes!

Wesley Snipes’ case isn’t looking good right now. Defrauding the U. S. Government is never a good idea, and he tried to settle his U.S. Treasury debts (besides the one left from not filing his federal tax returns in 2000) by writing fake checks. He also failed to file a return from 1999 to 2004!

Snipes, the 45-year old star of the “Blade” films, could face up to 16 year sin prison for his wrongdoings. But he’s a Hollywood Star, so he’ll probably just get a slap on the wrist, and have to make a blockbuster film with his earnings going directly to the U.S. Government.

Amy Winehouse—Busted by Authorities?

We have to wonder, if tiny Amy Winehouse, who has no regard for her own personal health, can do such stupid shiz as bingeing on crack and ex and come out of it alive, albeit with no brain cells, why is Heath Ledger dead? Life is just not fair. The Grammy-nominated Winehouse, 24, may think she’s invincible. Maybe she believes she’s got 4 more years until her body gives out to malnourishment and drugs. The Oscar-nonimated actor was only 28 when he passed.

The British tabloid, The Sun, gave the cops the video of her drug binge. See, honey? The tabs are not your friend.

Kanye West’s Mom’s Surgeon Done For

The more than shady doc Jan Adams once hosted the series “Plastic Surgery: Before and After” for five years. He also appeared on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” and “Entertainment Tonight”, which is all surprising, considering the doc’s history of erratic and irresponsible behavior. He was booked for his SECOND DUI on March 31, 2006, and was also arrested in September 2002 for hitting a parked car. He also had 2 malpractice suits, costing him about $200,000 each before performing surgery on Donda West, Kanye's mom. That’s why your practice is hurting, monster. You suck.

Busta Rhymes is Busted- Plea Deal

On top of 3 years of probation for 2 counts of assault, Busta Rhymes was also busted for a DUI, and will have to pay a $750 fine and enroll in a drunk driving prevention program. And finally, he drove with a suspended license—so he gets his license revoked for 6 months. That’s a lot to have handed to you in one day, but Busta asked for it! A few years ago, Busta’s attorney, Scott Leemon, told MTV News that Rhymes’ assault arrest was “payback” for when the rapper refused to cooperate with police investigations into the slaying of his bodyguard, Israel Ramirez. Guess that theory was overturned!

Angelina Jolie Expecting Twins!

Brad Pitt has always wanted a large family, and has been constantly quoted as saying he’d want enough kids to have his own soccer team. He has said he’d like to have a dozen children, but once said in an interview with TV host Charlie Rose that he and Angelina Jolie might just “crap out” and have seven instead. Well, if they’re on their way to having twins, they’ll be hitting that benchmark sooner than Brad might’ve expected!

Whether she is or isn’t pregnant, Angelina Jolie looks stunning instead of skeletal now that she’s gained an estimated 5-10 lbs. It all seems to have gone to her boobs. Not fair.

Gwen Stefani is Pregnant!

Last fall when a magazine asked Gwen Stefani what would be up next for her, she replied, “Make babies, make music, I’m on repeat mode.” The songstress and fashionista is right on track! With a confirmed pregnancy, the 38-year old mother of 20-month old Kingston is very happy—and so is her husband, Gavin Rossdale, who is 42. The Gwen and Gavin have been married since September 2002—that’s like an eternity in Hollywood years. Telling Elle magazine in December that her and Gavin’s marriage is not perfect, she also gushed over her son Kingston, saying he’s “so chill” and gives her “real balance”. We hope Kingston’s coolness won’t be stunted by a spotlight-taking addition to the family!

Jake Gyllenhaal Hit Hard by Heath Ledger’s Death

Jake Gyllenhaal was great friends with his “Brokeback Mountain” costar, Heath Ledger. As such, he’s been having a tough time dealing with Ledger’s tragic passing. Unable to carry on with his role in the upcoming film “Brothers”, Jake left the set for a few days when he heard the news of Heath’s death. He returned later in the week to film additional scenes, but he wasn’t all there mentally. “He was there, but he wasn’t with us. It was obviously a major trauma. These guys were very close. [Jake] was sitting in the director’s chair staring off into space,” recalls a source from the set.

Earlier on in filming, Jake Gyllenhaal had stuck a photo of Heath Ledger on the wall of his character’s prison cell as a joke. We hope Jake gets the time he needs to grieve.

Britney Spears’ Parents: Good or Bad?

Britney Spears’ parents, Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears, want Osama Lutfi out of Britney’s life and are prepared to go to court to get her back, literally. They want to establish conservatorship of their daughter. In retaliation, Lutfi said that Britney’s family really couldn’t care less about their daughter; their “main worry is being financially cut off.” To disprove this rumor, Jamie and Lynne, who would be in control of Britney’s assets if they got this conservatorship,have asked to have an independent co-conservator appointed, who is unrelated to the family. All this because they think Lutfi is placing Brit Brit’s life and assets at risk. Looks like Britney is in for it. She can’t win either way. Her parents kind of suck, and Osama Lutfi sucks even more. Time for new friends and family!

Christina Aguilera: Baby Wars and Inspiration

When pop sensation Christina Aguilera appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show this morning, she seemed game to talk about anything and everything. Penis balloons at her newborn son’s circumcision. Not minding that Paris Hilton let the cat out of the bag about her pregnancy early. What was missing from this conversation? The price put on photos of Christina and her baby, Max. According to Gawker, Christina Aguilera’s pics have been priced at $1.5 million. That’s half a million more than Nicole Richie’s baby is worth to gossip mags, and $2.5 less than Brad and Angelina’s baby, Shiloh. We’d be pissed if our baby was the cheap one! How about you?

Kirsten Dunst in Rehab

Kirsten Dunst is in rehab and nobody’s commenting on why she’s gone there. The default answer reps usually give is “exhaustion”, which could be chalked up to what happens to celebrities’ bodies when they stress them out with long work hours, drugs, and not eating. Anything. Which could be Kirsten Dunst’s problem. She can be seen later this year in the comedy “How to Lose Friends and Alienate People”. She also just signed on to play the lead in the drama “Sweet Relief”, about a relief worker who is an advocate for Iraqi and Afghani victims. Heavy stuff. Stressful. Maybe the thought of being in that film sent her seeking help.

Grammys A Ratings Dud

This year’s Grammy Awards had some clear winners. Television ratings were not one of them. While Amy Winehouse and Kanye West should be feeling pretty good about their careers right now, the Grammy Awards are wondering what went wrong, and probably should start looking into their credibility as an organization. Granting 5 awards to a star who has been publicly battling hard drugs hardly makes the Grammys look like they know what they’re doing. Perhaps it’s all about the music, but isn’t it also about nurturing talent? Not to discredit Amy Winehouse, who is undoubtedly blessed with talent, but by showering her with accolades at the same time she’s been destroying her career with drugs, aren’t the Grammys sending a bad message to viewers?

Perhaps so, as if these preliminary numbers are true, Nielsen Media Research says this year’s Grammys were at an all-time low.

So I take great offense to almost see someone getting glory out of being in the position that they're in – she needs to get her life together and embrace her craft, she will lose it if she doesn't get it together.”

Will Baron Hilton get a harsher sentence than his sister because the paparazzi and tabloids don’t care about him? Will he be tried more like a normal citizen, or will money dictate the outcome of the 18-year old rich kid’s new DUI case? At least Paris Hilton was of legal drinking age when she drove recklessly…as if that makes it any better. Bai Ling Arrested for Shoplifting

37-year old Chinese actress, Bai Ling, who was named one of People Magazine’s “50 Most Beautiful People in the World” 10 years ago, has hit a new low. Arrested for shoplifting at Los Angeles International airport yesterday, Ling doesn’t seem to be having much luck lately. Her role was cut out of the 3rd installment of the new “Star Wars” series in 2005, then she went on to have a role in a VH1 reality show—a move that usually signals a stalling career for most celebrities. Most recently, she scored a role on the hit TV show, “Lost”, but that’s as good as it gets. Apparently she doesn’t even have $16 bucks to pay for the two tabloids and a pack of battery she stole.

American Idol’s Carly Smithson a Phony

Did Simon Cowell conveniently forget or just totally not know that this season’s Top 24 “American Idol” contestant, Irish songstress Carly Smithson, already had several shots at the music business and bombed? MCA Records signed her almost 10 years ago, spent over 2 million dollars promoting and creating her debut album, and spent $250,000 on a music video of her. The video bombed with Nickelodeon audiences, the target market, and her CD, three months after its release, had sold a grand total of 378 copies. No, that’s not in thousands, that’s three-hundred-and-seventy-eight copies. People have more albums than that on their iPods.

So why has “American Idol” conveniently forgotten about Carly Hennessey’s—we mean Carly Smithson’s—past? The info on her is out there. We’re not even remotely linked to the music business and found this out. What gives? Simon?

Jennifer Lopez’s Baby Bubble Bursts

Christina Aguilera must feel like crap. People Magazine reportedly paid her $2 million for photos of her and her new son, Max—and the magazine with Christina’s mommy cover shot undersold, with a projected 1.3 million copies sold. They usually sell 1.4 million copies weekly. Jennifer Lopez, on the other hand, who reportedly has gone into labor today, after holding a private suite at the North Shore University Hospital for two weeks, might fetch $6.5 million for her baby photos. Is it because she’s having twins? We can’t wait to see how many copies that issue sells! It’s OK, Xtina, you still sing better than J. Lo.

Ashton Kutcher’s Hepatitis A Party

If you were lucky enough to attend hottie Ashton Kutcher’s 30th birthday party at NYC’s Socialista Bar, then you might just want to pop on over to your doctor’s office for a Hepatitis A vaccination. Other people that should be following your lead, because they attended the birthday bash, include Demi Moore, Lucy Liu, Salma Hayek, Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Rebecca Gayheart, and Eric Dane.

Of course, you could also stop drinking and rest a lot for a few weeks. According to the health department, that’s how you recover from Hepatitis A, which is spread when people put something in their mouth that “has been contaminated with traces of fecal matter from an infected person.” Yum!

Oscar Night Underwhelms

The 80th Annual Academy Awards was one of the lowest-rated Oscar nights on record. Some say it was the lack of nominated blockbusters and recognizable winners (all four acting awards went to Europeans). But it wasn’t a complete snooze fest. Some highlights included: Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill both vying for the honor of presenting as Halle Berry; Javier Bardem’s acceptance speech (in Spanish to his mom); Colin Farrell and John Travolta almost falling on a slippery stage; and Diablo Cody, stripper-turned-screenwriter, winning Best Original Screenplay for “Juno.”

But perhaps the most memorable moment came on the red carpet when Gary Busey accosted Jennifer Garner as she was interviewed by Ryan Seacrest. Thank god, Ben Affleck wasn’t around or we might have had our first ever pre-Oscar fist fight. Just another case of Busey being Busey.

Rachael Ray's Marriage in Trouble?

Regarding the couple's sleeping arrangement that night, the insider continues: "He was sent off to sleep in a little upstairs loft that's normally where one of Rachael's mother's cats sleeps."

Rachael Ray's publicist told the Enquirer the story was not true, but the magazine's source insisted the relationship is "broken beyond repair" and will likely be over "before the year ends."

Executive producer Conrad Green said cast diversity contributes to the show's success. His team looks for contestants of various ages, sizes, abilities and professional pursuits. Participants have been boxers, basketball players, businessmen, models and yes, actors.

Matlin says practicing has become a full-time job, and it’s paying off. “She’s got natural rhythm. She’s on time every single time,” Sanchez told the New York Times.

In fact, he adds, her deafness may be an advantage. "I have somebody who has never danced, who has never heard music, so I can mold her however I want,'' he said. ''She's more sensitive to my lead because she's not trying to follow the rhythm on her own.''

Anna Nicole Smith's Son Died From Accidental Overdose

Police had said there was no evidence of homicide, and autopsies found that Daniel died from a combination of drugs, including methadone and antidepressants. But Bahamian authorities ordered the inquest amid widespread speculation over the circumstances surrounding his death.
